Discover Bilster Berg, one of Germany’s most challenging driving circuits, shaped by dramatic elevation changes and its unique natural surroundings. Built on a former NATO ammunition depot, the venue combines technical driving, flexible layouts, and modern automotive testing facilities.
After a seven-year planning and approval phase, Bilster Berg opened in 2013 following 20 months of construction. It became the first new circuit to open in western Germany in more than 80 years.
The 4.2-kilometer circuit makes full use of the site’s natural terrain. In total, 19 turns, steep gradients, and 44 crests and dips create a highly demanding driving experience. The track reaches gradients of up to 26 percent downhill and 21 percent uphill.
Furthermore, the flexible track design allows operators to divide Bilster Berg into two independent sections. The 1.8-kilometer West Loop and 2.4-kilometer East Loop each have their own access. As a result, both sections can operate independently and support different activities at the same time.
Today, automotive manufacturers and suppliers regularly use Bilster Berg for vehicle testing and development. In addition, its white-label concept makes the venue ideal for product launches, corporate events, and film productions.
Beyond the main circuit, the facility includes an off-road course and a dynamic handling area. Together, these elements create a versatile automotive destination for testing, training, presentations, and driving experiences.
