Valencia F1 Street Circuit

The Valencia Street Circuit was a temporary race track located in the Spanish city of Valencia, which hosted the European Grand Prix from 2008 to 2012.

In 2007, Tilke was commissioned to design the circuit, making it the first temporary street track in the Tilke portfolio.

The 5.4 km-long circuit partially runs through the streets of Valencia and alongthe harbor, creating a unique atmosphere reminiscent of the iconic track of Monaco. The old harbor building was repurposed as a pit building. A distinctive feature of the circuit was a swing bridge crossing the harbor basin, which posed significant technical challenges for the planners.

Despite its popularity among Formula 1 fans, the track was removed from the racing calendar in 2013, with greater focus shifting to the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
