Since 2015 Dr. Carsten Tilke is Partner of Tilke GmbH & Co. KG and since 2017 Managing Director.
Dr. Carsten Tilke is Managing Partner of the Tilke Company. As circuit designer he combines deep engineering expertise with a clear vision for the future of motorsport.
After graduating in Civil Engineering from the renowned Technical University of Munich, he worked as a research associate, focusing on risk management, real estate project development, teaching, and expert assessments. He completed his PhD in 2014, earning the title Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.).
In 2014, Carsten joined Tilke GmbH & Co. KG, the company founded by his father, Hermann Tilke. What began as a role in project management quickly evolved into a leadership position. In 2015 he was appointed Managing Partner. Since then, he has been shaping some of the most influential motorsport developments of the modern era, with his first major Formula 1 project, the Baku City Circuit, followed by the Hanoi Formula 1 Circuit, Kuwait Motor Town, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the Lusail International Circuit and the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. He is currently leading the development of Qiddiya Speed Park, one of the largest and most ambitious motorsport projects worldwide.
In addition to his engineering and management expertise, Carsten draws on experience as a GT racing driver, including an overall victory at the 24 Hours of Dubai in 2009. This combination enables him to integrate both technical precision and driver perspective into circuit design, ensuring high-quality racing and an intuitive experience for drivers.
Carsten also oversees the company’s expansion into a more integrated service offering – from consulting and feasibility studies to operational concepts with strong focus on sustainability and innovation.
He founded the Motorsports Club of Clubs, a global initiative connecting private club circuits and fostering an international motorsport community.
Carsten‘s vision is to shape the future of racetrack design by uniting technical precision, sustainability, and operational excellence – an ambition he believes can only be realized through the strength, experience, and dedication of the exceptional team working alongside him.
